Westfield NJ firefighters responded to Clyne & Murphy Catering on a reported fire in the kitchen. Upon arrival they found smoke showing from the 1 story taxpayer that house at least 5 other businesses. Fire fighters attempted an interior attack but were forced to defensive operations as heavy fire raced through the cockloft of the building. Six alarms were transmitted bringing mutual aid to the scene from numerous Union County towns. Three ladder pipes and multiple master streams and hose lines were used to battle the blaze. The fire took several hours to bring under control.
