On Saturday March 21, 2009 the New Jersey Forest Fire Service Division A members conducted prescribed burning at the Black River Wildlife Area in Chester Township. The burning began at 1:00 P.M. and ended around 10:00 P.M. Numerous units from Division A participated in the burning, Two teams of fire crews burned around 200 acres of overgrown fields and grass.
