Washington Borough, NJ 44 East Washington Ave. August 28, 2006
On August 28, 2006 Washington Borough, NJ fire fighters were enroute to their fire company drill when they spotted smoke coming from the Washington Antique Store located at 44 East Washington Ave. (AKA- Route 57). Mutual aid was called to the scene from Warren, Morris, and Hunterdon Counties. The rear half of the building collapsed about 15 minutes into the fire. The Washington Antique store was a fixture in the borough for around 100 years. The building was a historical landmark and served many uses before becoming an antique store. Photos By: Adam Alberti
