Hopatcong, NJ 400 Lakeside Blvd January 22, 2008
Hopatcong, NJ firefighters responded to the area of 400 Lakeside Blvd. at approximately 7:45 A.M. on a reported structure fire. Upon arrival they found a 2 story wood frame dwelling heavily involved in fire. The structure was several hundred feet off the main road. Fire apparatus were unable to access the driveway to the dwelling. Firefighter made long hose stretches to to the dwelling. Mutual aid was called to the scene from Roxbury, Byram, Jefferson Co. 2, and Andover Boro. Firefighting efforts were hampered by water problems, and cold temperatures and ice. The fire took about 1 hour to bring under control. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. The occupants of the home escaped without injury.
