Harrison, NJ - At around 0600 hours firefighters responded to a building fire at 2nd St. & Railroad Ave. Upon arrival they found a vacant 2 story wood frame involved in fire. Mutual aid brought to the scene from Kearny and East Newark Fire Department. Due to the condition of the building an exterior attack was used to battle the fire. A collapse zone was set as multiple master streams operated. The cause of the fire is under investigation but considered suspicious. It took firefighters almost an hour to bring the fire under control.
