At 4:45 A.M. Roxbury fire fighters responded to 126 Shippenport Rd. in the Landing section on a reported house fire. Upon arrival Engine 22 found heavy fire showing on the second floor of a 1.5 story wood frame dwelling. Fire fighters stretched a hoseline to the seat of the fire and knocked it down within 5 minutes. The occupants were being evacuated by Police Officers on the fire departments arrival. All occupants escaped without injury. All three Roxbury Fire Companies and Netcong Fire Department RIC Team operated at the scene. The fire was under control within 20 minutes however crews remained on scene overhauling and extinguishing hot spots. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
