Roxbury fire fighters battled a 2 alarm fire that involved a 2 family apartment building at 519 Route 46. The fire was reported at around 1:30 PM and fire fighters arrived to find heavy fire showing on arrival. A second alarm was transmitted bringing mutual aid from Mine Hill, Wharton, Dover, Randolph, and Netcong. The fire was under control within one hour. The occupants of the building escaped the fire however one canine perished. The cause of the fire is being investigated.
